Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 2, 2026 · Covers the Zapline app for iPhone, iPad, Apple TV and Mac.

The short version

Zapline collects nothing. There are no accounts, no analytics, no ads, no tracking, and no servers of ours. Everything you add to the app stays on your device.

What the app stores, and where

None of this data is transmitted to us — we couldn't receive it if we wanted to, because the app has no backend.

Network connections the app makes

The app talks only to servers you configure or ask it to use:

  1. Your playlist/EPG provider — to download the playlists, streams and TV-guide data you added.
  2. TMDB (optional) — only if you enter your own API key in Settings, to fetch poster art and ratings for titles in your playlists. Those requests are governed by TMDB's own policy.
  3. Artwork URLs inside your playlists — channel logos are loaded from wherever your playlist points.

Your content, your responsibility

Zapline ships with no channels or content. It plays only playlists you supply, and you are responsible for having the right to watch them.
